Tuscaloosa, AL – The independent film production company Crimson Pictures has announced an official wrap date for their found footage style horror film “Cheaha”. Director and executive producer Ron Hudson stated in a Facebook and Twitter post that Cheaha will officially wrap on July 27th, 2013, following the final scenes shot on that day.
Cheaha entered pre-production in March of 2012 with the first day of shooting beginning on June 9th 2012. Filming was delayed for months following the decline in health of the director’s beloved grandmother. After her untimely passing, filming resumed briefly in the fall and was put on hiatus during the winter of 2013. The film entered its final shooting phase last spring and will enter post-production immediately following the final day of filming this month.
According to the film’s website, “Cheaha” will be released in the fall of 2013. While no distribution details have been leaked as of now, the film will be screened at various film festivals across the country, according to an email sent out by the Cheaha producers.
Cheaha is a fictional found footage style horror film in the vein of Blair Witch and Cloverfield that tells the story of two young hikers who are hunted by an unknown creature in while hiking the legendary Cheaha Mountain.
