Los Angeles, CA — August 14, 2017 – SBI Press, the new publishing arm of Starburns Industries, announced today that it is raising funds via Kickstarter to release their second book, The Crawling King. SBI Press has set out to raise $37,000 to finish developing and produce the first print run of award-winning independent animator Einar Baldvin’s fully illustrated 182 page dark fantasy novel.
Einar Baldvin is an award-winning animation director from Iceland who lives and works in Los Angeles. He is known for making terrifying, hand-crafted films. His work has been exhibited all around the world at top-tier film festivals.
His latest film The Pride of Strathmoor premiered at Telluride Film Festival in 2014 and took the top awards at Slamdance, Florida Film Festival, Nordisk Panorama, among others. A lifelong fan of macabre fiction, The Crawling King is his first novel and features fully drawn, inked, painted and handwritten pages that tell the collected stories from doomed city of Gyldenbrae and the surrounding countryside. Presented in the form of legends, fables, manuscripts, first-hand accounts and historical documents, The Crawling King invites readers to delve into the ruins of a world consumed by darkness.
The Kickstarter campaign offers unique rewards to SBI’s backers including special edition artwork, sculptures, digital downloads, portraits, and copies of The Crawling King signed by the author.
This is the second book in an upcoming line of comics, graphic novels, fiction and more from SBI Press, planning an official rollout in January 2018. the studio behind the Oscar nominated film Anomalisa and the hit animated show Rick and Morty will work with some of the top names in their podcast network, the standup comedy scene and the comics industry to debut titles that continue to deliver the unique brand of funny, strange, sad and beautiful storytelling Starburns fans have grown to know and love.
