Brewery Crafted Pints, Dayton’s First Hard Cider Producing Brewery Seeks Crowdfunding Help on Kickstarter. The craft brewery will be making traditional and gluten-free craft beers and fresh pressed hard cider. The campaign seeks $30,000 in funding.
Dayton, Ohio, August 30, 2014 – Local brewery startup Crafted Pints is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign and have raised over $3,000 of their $30,000 goal. If successful, Crafted Pints will be Dayton’s first brewery to produce and sell hard cider. The campaign is currently in progress and ends September 22, 2014 at 8:00 P.M. EDT. The $30,000 will be used to secure remaining needed brewery equipment and to build an awesome taproom, if the campaign is funded. If not, the community misses out on the premium craft beers and hard ciders Crafted Pints will bring to Southwest Ohio.
Rather than seeking financing from a local financial institution, Crafted Pints wants to maintain a sense of community in Dayton and throughout Southwest Ohio. The element that sets Crafted Pints apart from other breweries is the unbridled creativity the company possesses. They plan to produce a wide variety of craft beers in Dayton, Ohio, with several full-time offerings, seasonal releases and limited small batch draft and bottle releases. Throughout each step of the process, fresh local and all-natural ingredients will be sourced for all products. “Crafted Pints is dedicated to letting anyone who wants great craft beer enjoy the craft beer experience, thus we are offering 100% gluten-free beers as well, says the owners.” The care and detail put in their craft beers extends to the cidery as well. What’s better than a cold glass of hard cider? Cider made with fresh locally-grown fruits like Crafted Pints promises Ohio craft beer fans. Each batch will be inspired by the same passion and creativity that led to Crafted Pints’ existence. With all of this craft beer and cider goodness comes the needs for funds, so Crafted Pints’ Jerrod Fisher, Mike Meholick, and Greg Cason turned to Kickstarter. Kickstarter has received a lot of attention in the press lately, particularly for the infamous “potato salad” campaign. Crafted Pints is asking for money to help make good craft beer and hard cider, not to cook a party dish. What’s in it for backers? The brewery has a whole line of perks for each pledge level.
“Craft beer is all about sharing and community. We chose Kickstarter to help us launch our brewery because we wanted our community to be a part of this from its very inception,” said Fisher.
Beer lovers who give $10.00 or more will receive two Crafted Pints stickers and a personalized thank you, while $25.00 or more in pledges comes with a merchandise voucher, bottle opener lighter, magnet, two stickers, and a thank you. For the big beer lovers, $125.00 or more gets backers a Pint Crew membership for two years, a pre-launch party invite, and a selection of Crafted Pints-branded merchandise, while $500.00 or more gets a spot on the Tasting Panel, a lifetime Pint Crew membership, the backer’s name displayed on the website and in taproom, and much more. Crafted Pints invites beer fans take a look at the Kickstarter campaign, because even $1.00 helps. Perks are expected to ship between December 2014 and early 2015 depending on the category.
“Most people pay more than a $6.00 for a cup of crappy beer at a festival or game. Why not pay $1.00 or more and help get more fresh locally-made premium beer and cider?” said one local craft beer fan.
