Cooler Cannon is happy to announce the kick-off of its new grass roots marketing campaign, aimed at raising awareness of the product while securing crowd funding that will put the Cooler Cannon into production in 2014. In addition to traditional media efforts, the Cooler Cannon team will use a grass-roots approach to market the product at tailgates, barbeque parties and more, allowing fans to get a hands-on experience with the product.

The Cooler Cannon is a wildly entertaining remote-controlled cooler that tosses your beverage to you with the touch of a button. Forget getting up, walking to the cooler and dipping your hands in the ice – kick back and let the Cooler Cannon toss the beverage to you! From cooler to koozie, Cooler Cannon brings your beverage to you with the touch of a remote.

“Tailgating is a high-energy atmosphere of camaraderie and socializing,” said creator Derek Hoy. “We’re looking to take that tailgating fun to the next level by introducing fans to the remote-controlled, beverage-tossing Cooler Cannon, and we know their tailgates will never be the same!”

The Cooler Cannon holds 18 cans of your favorite beverages and uses a 12V motor to set/trigger a spring-loaded launch arm. It runs off a rechargeable battery – just add ice to the dedicated cavity, load cans, kick back, hit the remote and voilà – you’re launching cans to you and your friends with the press of a button!

While Cooler Cannon does address some issues faced by lazy drinkers, the real essence of the product is entertainment. Tailgating and backyard barbeques are excuses for friends to get together, socialize, have fun and create memories and the Cooler Cannon is the perfect addition to the party! Don’t suffer from boring backyard BBQs and stale pre-game banter – create your own buzz by firing off rounds from the Cooler Cannon, the surefire crowd pleaser!

“We’re taking an experiential marketing approach with this product and there’s no better venue than fall football,” Hoy said. “To really see how fun and exciting it can be, you have to be there in person, hearing the crowd roar and that’s something you just can’t experience with Twitter and Facebook. Traditional marketing efforts are great, but when you’re a startup like we are, you have to get creative.”

Background

The Cooler Cannon stems from a beverage-dispensing coffee table Hoy invented as an electrical engineering student at Iowa State University. It was later modified to cater to the outdoor events market as a cooler and was branded Shoot-A-Brew where it received attention from ESPN, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Food Network’s Invention Hunters. With a patent in-hand and a name change, Hoy and team are looking to launch the product in 2014, but require funding to modify the design for lower cost, higher volume manufacturing.
