National News Story Becomes A Children’s Book:  Seeks Supporters For Environmental Awareness.

January 25, 2015   (Winnetka, IL) – “We need more inspiring true stories for children,” says Lynn Sanders, CEO/Founder of Park Avenue Marketing, whose business provides strategic story marketing for heart-centered entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations.

One particular story never left her mind.  As a result, on January 8th, Sanders launched “Dancing With Tex:  A Special Friendship” on Indiegogo to self-publish an inspirational,  true story that made national news on the Johnny Carson show thirty years ago.  It’s one she feels children need to read.

“It’s empowering, educational, and inspirational,  Most of all, it demonstrates that with faith, perseverance and activism, we can make a difference.”

It all started in 1995, during a video shoot at the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Sanders heard a unique story off-camera from Dr. George Archibald, co-founder of this world-renowned sanctuary for all fifteen species of cranes.  Archibald mentioned how he had danced with a rare Whooping Crane to help her lay a fertile egg, because Tex believed she belonged with people.  Sanders was amazed by the story’s unusual angle.

“No one had ever done what this man did,” said Sanders.  “He was even on the Johnny Carson show because it was such an achievement.  It has all the elements of a great story, and best of all, it educates children about the importance of caring for animals, while demonstrating how each of us can make a big difference in creating positive change.”

Sanders also adapted this story into a children’s musical at the former Theatre Building Chicago.  Collaborators included book writer, Jenny Stafford and composer Russ Coutinho.  The show, “A Whooper’s Tale:  The Incredible Story of Tex” received rave reviews as a musical reading during its brief two-performance reading in 2009.
