Izzygear LLC, a New York based mobile tech company geared towards parents and children, launches a new Kickstarter campaign for the Cogni Case, a mobile phone case made for iPhone to help parents of newborns have an easier time taking pictures of their children. The campaign was launched on November 21, 2015 and will run through December 21st, 2015. The goal of the campaign is to raise $20,000 to pay for tooling costs of production.

The Story

The Cogni case was the idea of co-founder Benji Rogers who realized one day that taking pictures of your newborn needed to be much easier and less stressful. When he noticed that his daughter Izzy would fixate on the mobile hanging above her changing table, he thought of trying that on the back of an iPhone case. So Benji customized his phone case with a sharpie to mimic the design of the mobile and soon he realized that this is something that parents, relatives and friends could truly benefit from.

Benji later brought the idea to his co-founder Nicholas Coblence and they decided to pursue this as a crowd funding campaign. They brought on partner Marcel Botha and 10xBeta to develop the product and partner Camilla F Kristiansen to create the brand identity for the company and for the products.

How it works

The Cogni Case uses interchangeable art cards with STIM inspired designs to engage your child’s gaze to the back of the phone allowing you to take clear and well positioned photos of them anytime. The placement of the graphics on the art cards creates a temporary engagement between the infant and the camera, resulting in better photos, videos and video calls.

In today’s busy world of social sharing and instant updates, getting the right shot to send out can be stressful and time consuming. The Cogni Case helps by making sure the user gets the right shot every time leaving them more time to spend with their family and the little one.

The Case

The Cogni consist of interchangeable art cards and a bumper, which holds the cards in place on the back of the phone. The graphics on each card range in complexity depending on the age of your child.

For now, the cases are:

• Created for four stages of early development ( 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, and 9-12 months)
• Currently available for iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus and 6s Plus
• Available in black or white with a choice of three graphics (owl, penguin and the original birdie)
• Made using BPA, BPS and Phthalate free plastic
