A short film about Karen and Blake, a hit-woman team who must kill their mark without killing their friendship.
Women actors have become tired of the stereotypes they see again and again in casting calls: “Pretty but down to earth” or “The girl next door with a killer bod”. Male role descriptions are most often centered around personality, and allow for a wider acceptance of unpopular characteristics. Flashes and Floaters productions has taken matters into our own hands and wrote Cocked their first short film. They took a typical male trope and turned it on it’s head, critiquing it while still enjoying it.
Courtney Renee Stallings and Noelle Stewart both wrote, are producing, starring in, and directing the short film. Both originally from California. They met in undergrad at The University of San Francisco, in the Performing Arts and Social Justice Program. It was there that they first collaborated while writing their senior thesis, discovering that they made a great writing team. They both attended The New School for Drama’s M.F.A. program and, after graduating, began writing to generate work and founded Flashes and Floater productions.
Their Kickstarter to fund half the film was started June 22nd and runs till July 22nd. You can see the page at: www.kickstarter.com
