An Exciting Modern Genre-mix Told in an Illustrated Pulp Magazine Style, Now Funding on Kickstarter

Monsters, cops, government agents, a cheeky Brit and a beautiful woman. An exciting modern genre-mix told in a pulp magazine style, with fully painted illustrations that guide readers through this action packed story.

As America slogged through the Vietnam Conflict, the United States Army looked for an advantage. Enter the Circle, a group of the allies’ brightest scientific minds. Their task: create perfect soldiers, specimens beyond the limits of nature. The results were…monstrous. The project was shut down and wiped from memory.

Fast forward over 40 years and the Circle has resurfaced as a designer, recreational narcotic that turns its users into ten foot tall ravenous monsters. Inspector Willam McCabe has followed the swath of destruction from the London underground to the affluent neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Now, McCabe must partner with LA Detective Evelyn “Eve” Morgan to stop the drug from spreading as the body count rises. But the government has come to finish the cover up they started decades ago. Will Eve and McCabe get swept under the rug with everything else? And is their partnership a coincidence of circumstance or is there a darker link in their past?

These questions and more will be answered in this exciting and action-packed illustrated novel by Brian C. Roll. The Circle is a modernization of the classic pulp format, a modern mating of prose and illustration. Not quite a typical graphic novel with sequential art and not a paperback novel. Utilizing years of graphic design experience co-mingled with a love of illustration, Roll has created a unique escape for readers. The crowd-funding campaign to publish the novel was launched on October 1, 2013 and runs until 11:59 PM EST on November 15, 2013.
