He’s been battling the disease of addiction for nearly twenty years, taking him to eighteen different facilities for a total of twenty-seven in-patient visits since the age of sixteen. I began writing stand-up to combat my internal feelings. If I could turn my pain, suffering, trauma, and my lifetime worth of mistakes into laughter and smiles, I would have done something good with my life. So, I began writing good stand-up…except I was shy, nervous, socially awkward, and suffered from terrible anxiety. Couple that with multiple traumatic brain injuries, brain damage, and a seizure disorder, and you don’t exactly have the best candidate for stand-up comedy. However, that didn’t stop me, but I wasn’t getting much better with practice. So, I decided on another route: Create a character that could perform my jokes for me. Right then was when the idea formed for The Adventures of Kushman and Savage. I’m so excited about the depth of these characters and the possibilities that lie ahead for them.
