The augmented reality app Elfxpedition allows children to capture Christmas elves in their own home or anywhere they go!
Montreal, Canada 11th November, 2013
Elfxpedition is a very cool and unique iOS augmented reality App for children! The game allows children to virtually capture Christmas elves in their own home or anywhere they go. The more elves children capture, the more points they accumulate and the more games and activities they unlock.
Children capture and befriend elves to unlock cool Christmas games and activities. The more elves that are captured, the stronger the bond between the child and Santa, because elves are Santa’s eyes and ears. As soon as a child captures an elf, Santa begins to gather information about them. Everyday, the elves will children a random question that will provide Santa with more and more information about the child’s behavior.
Children will use the iPhone’s camera to search for flying elves on their screen. The moment they see an elf, they have to move the iPhone so that the elf is inside the green circle. Children click to capture the elf. To help children detect the hidden elves, there is an Elf Detector available on the screen. This Elf Detector works as a radar showing the child green dots that represent the flying elves location. The App will be available for iPhone & iPod Touch.
All the designs, UI, game design and other visuals are nearly finished. The next big step is the actual programming, the music, the sound effects and Tom Dell’Aringa’s elf illustrations. Already a lot of time and money has been invested in this Christmas App, and Christian Bougie needs help to complete this mission!
This project will only be funded if at least $20,000 CAD is pledged by Sunday Dec 8, 11:30pm EST.
