Lose your clucking mind! Issue #3 of Chicken Outfit is being released this October 31!

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada (April 8, 2015) – Toronto area creative team Joe Deagnon and Kirby Stasyna have turned to popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter to launch the third issue of the critically acclaimed horror / sci-fi series, Chicken Outfit, which satirizes everything from from splatter movies, underground comics to first-hand office culture, is a phantasmagoria of horror, science fiction and dark humor.

The story focuses on Stan Munson and Rusty McDoodle, two hapless slobs working in online “marketing” under the management of a corporate maniac and his boot-lick cronies. During an experiment gone horribly awry, Stan inadvertently opens a portal to another dimension and unleashes hell on earth. As the story progresses, Stan and his best friend Rusty team up with a drunken psychic, who harbors a bizarre secret, as they attempt to sabotage their employer’s nefarious plans and ultimately, discover their soul-shattering fates.

In Chicken Outfit, you won’t find any cute cat pictures, heroes in tights or disinformation. It’s a place where two friends must fight for their identities and their very humanity amidst the terrifying realization that in a universe of bureaucratic red tape and constant surveillance, everything around them breaks down or blows up in their face. Welcome to the Chicken Outfit…where sanity is questioned, there’s an axe lurking behind every back and anti-heroes are made.

Deagnon and Stasyna, chose to launch the third issue of Chicken Outfit on the popular crowdfunding site kickstarter.com because it gave them the chance to get the word out about the comic and connect with fans of this niche genre all over the world.

According to Deagnon, “As fans of underground comix from the 1970’s like Zap and The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, horror comics like Weird, E.C.’s Tales From The Crypt, Creepy and Eerie and magazines like National Lampoon, Mad Magazine and Heavy Metal, we started Chicken Outfit in the tradition of comics we’ve loved and would like to see more of – and hope you will too!”

Stasyna adds, “Kickstarter is a great eco-system for meeting like-minded people and expanded our audience.”

The Chicken Outfit campaign (kickstarter.chickenoutfit.com) runs until May 2, 2015 and includes an inside look at the developing comic, pitch video, the cover design for issue three and a plenty of artwork, behind the scenes material, interviews and reviews. There are a number of backer rewards offering everything from print and digital copies of the series, “horror movie poster homage” postcards, stickers and coming soon, get yourself drawn into the comic, and various other surprises from the world of Chicken Outfit.
