May 26, 2015, Adelaide, Australia – CHERUBS is launching an Indiegogo campaign on May 25 to introduce stylish, durable and affordable ceramic earbuds which will offer a divine and comfortable listening experience.
Cherubs are made of a hi-tech ZrO2 ceramic used in aerospace and medical industries. The material is harder than steel, scratch resistant and hypoallergenic. You will use the headphones much longer than average plastic ones. Coupled with the silicone ear insert, ceramics keep the audio in, while blocking out unwanted noise. Cherubs remain comfortably in your ears when you are working out because of the secure fit and heavier weight.
Cherubs use a complete ceramic case that provides a divine listening experience. Other ceramic earbuds typically have a metal component in their case which absorbs the sound waves – making your audio ‘tinny’ and empty. Cherubs utilize the properties of ceramic, creating a chamber that funnels sound to your ear, enhancing your audio experience.
“As an avid traveler and former flight attendant, I always have been looking for headphones, which I could wear during long flights. Music connects me to home and reminds of places I’ve seen. But I didn’t like bulky over-the-ear headphones and earbuds that provided bad sound quality and didn’t block outside noise. Plus, after several hours of wearing them, my ears hurt. So I had to come up with an elegant solution for myself and other music lovers,” said Jason Kiger, the founder of Cherubs.
Headphone market is booming: global sales are seen climbing 18% to $9.9 billion, according to the recent research conducted by Futuresource Consulting. Headphones have become a lifestyle product. New fashion collections of Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana include them alongside handbags, shoes and dresses.
Originally known as an industrial material, Zr02 ceramic is now used in watches, jewelry and mobile phones. Kiger sees Cherubs as a bold accessory, to be worn by confident men and women living fast paced contemporary lifestyles.
The Indiegogo campaign offers backers an opportunity to pre-order Cherubs starting at $40. Businesses and sport teams can order the headphones with custom laser engraving with a minimum order of ten units. Jason Kiger and his team are hoping to raise $30,000 to make affordable, beautiful high quality headphones a reality.
