Cleveland, Ohio – Today, Salam Café launches on crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Chef Ehab Enaia hopes to raise $45,000 to open his new restaurant in Cleveland, OH. The campaign will run until December 24th, 2017 11:59pm EST.
This acclaimed chef found success in strengthening communities through his Middle-Eastern cuisine. Palestinian born Ehab found his way in America, working as a chef in many restaurants throughout Cleveland, Ohio. He cultivated a community of people who welcomed him as their own. In 2012, he opened Café Falafel, a Mediterranean-style restaurant that allowed the city to experience the rich taste of his homeland.
On the Kickstarter page, a video allows potential backers to get a feeling of the future environment at Salam Café. The video shares stories of the passionate people that Ehab has brought together through his food. Ehab’s personality shines through and you understand why cooking for people is more than an activity for him. The money raised will go towards everything needed to start a new restaurant including kitchenware, tables, securing a location, among other things.
During an on camera interview at Purple Films Ehab stated, “I bring people real Middle-Eastern food. The real deal. That once you eat it, you have to come back again.” Local entrepreneur, Diane Sikorski partnered with Purple Films to bring this campaign to life. “I have created this campaign on behalf of my friend Ehab Enaia because I believe that he, his family and our city will be better for him having the opportunity to create Salam Café.”
