2020 and now 2021 has been something unexpected. We encourage people to come together and rise up as heroes in the moment, those who act on respectful acts of humanity. Thus, the card game has been created to capture all of 2020 in a box of a game that will allow us to remember the changes and see the light in all that we endured.
#CaptureCovid the card game is a light-hearted and humorous game about good and bad choices. Choices can be difficult or easy. The choices others make have a profound effect not only on the individual making the choice but on, those around us, near and far, positive and negative. We experience events every day, such as stubbing your toe on your dog’s toy, spilling the milk, opening your car door too quickly nailing the parked car by you, getting your haircut, making a new friend, or even falling in love. Every event is an experience, we may not always like what we experience, but we go through them, and move on to the next. It would be an understatement to say that we all didn’t go through our fair share of experiences in 2020, whether they were provoked by the Vid or not, it was an unforgettable year. #CaptureCovid is a game of you against both your fellow neighbors and against the board being The Vid. In #CaptureCovid, the choice is as easy as a roll of a die, the Rona Die.
You progress through the game while preventing every chance of contracting the virus, as the virus will lead to elimination. All players on the board will race to find the vaccine to save humanity. An EVENT in the game of #CaptureCovid leads to contracting The Vid or use of an IMMUNITY (aka your power). An IMMUNITY may be that you own a mask, a human bubble suit, a lightsaber, sanitizer wipes, a hazmat suit, bleach, and much more!
You must strategically utilize these immunities and those of others until you or another player discovers a vaccine and can spread this through herd immunity. If the vaccine is discovered and spread successfully, the game is won as a community. If someone is TRUMPED and gets The Vid, all players must act to save one another or selfishly only save themselves to be the unfortunate ultimate winner.
In the mix of these cards are your FRIEND cards, which can both out you from the game or be used as an act of kindness when a player is in need of survival. The 20-sided Rona Die (get it 20-20) makes for an extra take on the fun as it is like having a small Covid-like memento in your home, because why wouldn’t we want this?
