April 11, 2014 – Cads About Matrimony is a revolting new wedding game guaranteed to upset your in-laws and humiliate your friends.

A sane person on the way to a bachelor/ette party knows what agony lies ahead. A tired spectacle of booze, clichés, and terrible, soul-shriveling games. Oh god, the games…. The mortifying props. The forced lechery. The entirely uncalled-for rudeness to strangers. Nothing about the marriage endeavor could possibly suck more.

Now, there is a better way. Cads About Matrimony.

A game that not even an obscene hat can ruin.

A game that is unlikely to lead to the wedding being called off (but we make no promises).

A game of awful, awkward fun that’s equally good with or without lewdly named beverages.

Based on the same basic matching concept of hit party games Apples to Apples ™ and Cards Against Humanity,™* the game is simple to play. One player reads a question card out loud. The other players each submit an answer card. The best answer wins.

But all the questions and answers in Cads About Matrimony make a mockery of one of civilization’s most sacred institutions. The results are as hilarious, embarrassing, depraved, and satisfying as marriage itself.

I created Cads About Matrimony in the spring of 2013, when I was put in charge of games for my dear friend Nicky’s bachelorette party. I went online to look for ideas, and found plenty of them that were extremely lame. Nicky deserved better. So I was inspired to create a card game that honors the glorious institution that is matrimony, while also preparing my friend for the all frightening realities and ceremonial absurdity of our civilization’s most fraught life-long commitment. The game I made for Nicky on my laptop and home printer was a bizarre, offensive, delicious, and inappropriate parody of wedding culture and marriage hang-ups. And now it can all be yours.

My Kickstarter campaign will produce a first run of professionally printed decks of about 50 question cards and 225 answer cards. The game is perfect for bachelor and bachelorette parties, showers, receptions, or any occasion that requires added awkwardness and irreverence around topics of love. As a bonus, when the wedding/marriage is over, you can add the cards to your Cards Against Humanity™ deck to cheapen and degrade that sacred institution as well. Pick it up at CadsAboutMatrimony.com.
