Eugene, OR | September, 10th 2015 – Can indulging in a cherished, childhood activity be the newest form of adult therapy? With the increasing stressful conditions of everyday life, establishing creative forms of meditation has become a necessary commodity. Psychologists told the Huffington Post that, “by engaging multiple parts of the brain, coloring allows us to use our imaginations, be creative, and DE-stress.” It has also become a useful tool for trauma patients, in group therapy, and for people needing to work on their fine motor coordination.
If everything sketches out according to plan, on October 23rd, Mischa Fellez will have the financing to launch a line of therapeutic adult coloring books entitled, Meditative Imaginings through her visionary company, C. Real Killer Designs. Born in a small town on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Mischa has long studied the creative concepts trade, and is now attempting to raise investments on the leading crowd funding website, www.kickstarter.com, to begin marketing this curative art technique.
Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing funding approach that has become a popular platform for numerous creators to mold their dreams into realities.
When asked about her inspiration for the campaign, Mischa noted, “Art has always been a respite for me from the chaotic conditions I grew up in. Recently, people all over the world have begun hosting adult coloring parties with their friends and families and two adult coloring books currently top the Amazon bestseller list. I decided to embrace the nostalgic and inspiring contribution by utilizing my most innovative concepts to enhance this new method of relaxation. Meditative Imaginings has been specifically created to fulfill the need we all have to escape the stresses of our past, and empowers you to embrace the present moment where there is no longer room in your mind for the endless worries about bills, your future, or your fears. Like dancing, coloring has no rules and only exists to be enjoyed as simple self-care. This project is twenty years in the making, and I’m so grateful to have a podium like kickstarter.com to embrace my fellow art enthusiasts as allies, and inspire some tranquility in our human society.”
Mischa’s perspective reinvents a variety of classic coloring book styles into completely original concepts, including Steam-Punk Nouveau, Floral Zoology, and Paisley Fantasy Creatures.
Pledges through Kickstarter will be used to forge C. Real Killer Designs into a company showcasing not only her adult coloring book but the eventual creation of numerous therapeutic art techniques.
It seems there are many others who share Mischa’s dream. Meditative Imaginings, in addition to the larger donation campaigns that have evolved on Kickstarter in recent months, highlight a transition in the way fans, established artists, and promising designers, are uniting to produce new work.
