Lipstick Red is an interactive music driven short film in the horror genre. Music driven films are making a resurgence and Lipstick Red is leading the pack by making it interactive. So what makes this film interactive? This is the fun part! We are delivering this film in 3D and SMELL-O-SCOPE. We want you to feel like you’re in the film and experience what our characters are experiencing. All of the sights and the smells. Shooting this film in 3D and SMELL-O-SCOPE is about creating the best film watching experience for LIPSTICK RED.
Our story begins on a dark night. Zeke, a backpacker road-tripping across the country, encounters misfortune when his car crashes into a decaying cemetery. Luckily, he spots a neon sign buzzing in the foggy distance, advertising FRANK’S STEIN & GRILL– a forgotten watering hole looming in the middle of nowhere. Once inside, Zeke slowly comprehends the true nature of Frank’s patrons: fiendish creatures of the alluring undead led by gypsy vampire, Carmilla! She and her ensemble of monsters have dressed the bar in preparation for their ancient ceremonies and Zeke has the one element they lack to complete their rites – innocence!
Director Stellan Kendrick is collaborating with production companies Richard Allen Studios and Crissy Field Records to produce this film. Lipstick Red is produced by Richard Allen and Taran Gray. Richard Allen has produced and directed numerous films, music videos and commercials. The dynamic duo of Richard Allen and Taran Gray are the producers that created the world’s first portrait music video which has been heralded as a game changer by Radar. The score and song “LIPSTICK RED” is by FLINT, a female Rock artist based out of San Diego, California. The Joshua Schnose (BLACKISH, COMMUNITY, THE SUITE, THE LAST SHIP, and many more). Hollywood Makeup Designer Laura Bedwell-Young and Theatrical Costume Designer Brad Locke are the explosive creative minds bringing all the amazing monsters to life with Production Designer Niko Rabbitt. The film stars Flint as Carmilla and Singer-songwriter Jules Galli as Zeke, a stranded traveler looking for a safe place to lay his head.
