We believe we can inspire travellers, promote tourism and increase awareness by implementing modern GIS and communication technologies in our new mobile app Biliki.
We are National Tourism Award winning non-profit organisation Tourism Geo-Information Center (BEST VISITOR INFORMATION AND SERVICES AWARD, 2015). Through expeditions and research projects we have gathered data about touristic routes (roads, trails) and several thousand touristic resources as well as companies or individuals who contribute to tourism. We have implemented several projects in the cooperation with governmental and private organisations. As a result we have created more than 100 tours which are published on our website (www.travelgis.ge).
Increasing number of visitors in Georgia, activates questions related to data reliability, safety, cost saving, tourist traps and so on. Our organisation aims to tackle these questions by implementing modern technologies in tourism industry.
Technology enables us to expand beyond the borders of Georgia and furthermore create tours in any Country. Helping visitors to enjoy best experience while travelling, we came up with an idea of mobile app Biliki – the trail.
Biliki will be a personalised free tourist guide based on geo-information technologies and reliable touristic data, which is tailored to user interests and tastes, from easy city tours to hard and extreme hiking. To provide suggestions Biliki will analyse user interests and weather conditions.
Recommendations about hotels and restaurants will be given only according to our team’s personal experiences and genuine user reviews. We aim to build a social platform, thus user can invite friends and plan the trip in discussion groups. Biliki can assist to pick the equipment for the trip. Live hints and tips can help avoid tourist traps.
While travelling, user will be able to follow the route using interactive map even offline. Locations, photos and fascinating stories will make the tour more interesting and informative. Integrated safety and monitoring system will alert in case user deviates from the route.
