De Soto, Missouri – in August, Beans With Benefits launched an Indiegogo campaign for a coffee subscription that donates a portion of proceeds of every bag sold to the charity chosen by the customer. The campaign promises better coffee that lets you make an impact for less than a dollar a day.
Coffee subscriptions have risen in popularity in recent years, likely as a result of their convenience and the freshness they offer but Beans With Benefits feel they can do it better. The campaign intends to give consumers a choice they lack with other coffee subscription models, and that choice is who the customers are supporting with their coffee. The campaign believes the service can be launched successfully for merely around $2,000 citing the cost of distribution and web hosting as the primary needs.
Founder Mitchell Zoph, a recent college graduate, explains, “It is known that the freshest coffee comes directly from the supplier and coffee subscriptions are a great way to ensure that customers receive the freshest possible coffee. However, many of the subscriptions I have encountered are overpriced or associated with niche charities. I feel Beans With Benefits can offer an optimal experience by ensuring customers will receive fresh, quality coffee that supports the causes they care about.”
Beyond charity, Beans With Benefits aims to offer a superior alternative to store-bought coffee. Historically, store-bought coffee has offered a less than optimal experience as the coffee may sit on the shelves for multiple days, sometimes long enough for the coffee to become rancid. Beans With Benefits intends to roast and ship all coffee the same day, this means customers will receive coffee at its optimal freshness.
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can receive a limited-time discount of five, ten, or twenty-five percent on their first order depending on the amount donated. The subscription platform is targeting a launch by the end of the year.
