Discovery Channel’s Big Brain Theory winning engineer, Corey Fleischer, introduces new product, The ARC, a 3D printed device for posture and pain relief, on Kickstarter.
Baltimore, MD (WEB) May 10, 2014 – – Baltimore startup Verve, invented by Discovery Channel’s Big Brain Theory Winning Engineer, Corey Fleischer, and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Gene Shirokobrod, launched a Kickstarter campaign yesterday for their product, The ARC. The Kickstarter campaign is off to a great start With Almost 300 backers and $11,000+ raised in less than 3 days.
The ARC Kickstarter campaign, launched May 6th, offers the general public the opportunity to either purchase an advance, limited production ARC, or donate to the fundraising effort in exchange for some other enticing accolades.
Produced using a 3D printer, the ARC’s design is simple, yet innovative. Created to drastically reduce, if not eliminate, discomfort and pain caused by neck joint and muscle tension, The ARC uses the body’s own weight, coupled with a strategically places tension point inserts to isolate and dissolve muscle tension, align the spine and provide relief to a host of common day pains.
By suspending the user’s head, the ARC creates tension along the neck/cervical system, creating the same effect as if someone is hanging from an inversion table, without the discomfort of hanging upside down. As a result, users will experience almost instant pain and discomfort relief, making The ARC a game changing device.
The ARC was created at the Baltimore Foundery, a Maker’s Space, located between Fells Point and Harbor East.
About the creators:
Corey Fleischer is a mechanical engineer and a recent winner of Discovery Channel’s: The Big Brain Theory. Corey also holds several US patents.
Gene Shirokobrod is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, specializing in manual therapy and treatment of the spine. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Physical Therapy and has worked with Baltimore’s professional sport teams.
