The world’s first social drawing application for iOS that turns drawings into videos with the touch of a finger.

Atlanta, GA 25th June 2013

Sketch’d is the world’s first iOS application that allows users to draw anything they want, animate it with their fingers, and share that animation instantly with others as a looping video or as the creators like to call it, a “sketch”. Users can also take a picture and turn that into a drawing which can be animated the same way.

Llyt, the company behind Sketch’d, has a working prototype and are ready to take it to the next level. As a result, they have launched a campaign today to raise $60,000 for the app on Kickstarter. With raised funds, they will be able to further improve the graphics of the app, hire more developers, perfect the animation system, design the network to be extremely nimble and receive viable feedback. Help and support from backers will allow them to bring the app out of the prototyping stage. The campaign lasts for 32 days.

Co-founders Catherine Van Orden (15) and Christopher Jones (19), have been long time friends since around two years ago. Christopher’s background consists of a surplus of knowledge about iPhone programming, sound design know-how, and graphical user interface design. Christopher is now finished with high-school and is looking to take online app development courses this fall with Florida’s Full Sail University. Catherine’s background is of similar calibre in that she is extremely intelligent and smart. She currently attends Woodward Academy and holds the number one winning spot in the world for the well known Odyssey of The Mind competitions. She also has designed several complex websites for clients in the form of HTML and CSS coding. Put Christopher and Catherine together, and they are a force that plans to change the world. Catherine and Christopher have brought on a whole app development team. On top of the app development team, they have brought on a top senior advisor and CFO who has experience in managing extensive projects and financials for large companies.

Catherine and Christopher have worked extremely hard to bring together an army of a team that could show the world there is a way for anyone and everyone to have fun and easily be a part of the ever changing animation industry. Every day, they put their hardest efforts into working on Sketch’d. When funded, the biggest risk that this project entails is getting the app submitted to the app store and going through Apple’s review process. Beyond that, the other challenge will be scaling the back-end server infrastructure to run smoothly as the audience grows.

As of now, the team has raised $1,315. Earlier this month, the team gained recognition from Startup Grind and platinum-record selling producer, Jermaine Dupri.
