(Washington, DC) June 3, 2014 –  Assembly Kit is an innovative physical, social and educational toy, made of a set of sticks and flexible connectors for building geodesic domes and other polyhedral structures of human-scale proportion.

This design is the creation of engineer and design lover, Rafael Anta. “I wanted to find a way to spend more time playing with my son but also fostering creativity and developing team building values while having fun,” says Anta. He wanted to help his child, and other children, engage in hands-on building toys that weren’t just electronically based. This led to the creation of Assembly.
After a year and a half of design and several rounds of prototyping, father and son have created Assembly. Anta believes the the Assembly Kit will allow children to develop core values such as teamwork, creativity, problem solving, concentration and leadership. There are many more cool applications of Assembly, but we just can’t predict them. This will depend on the imagination of PlayAssembly’s backers in Kickstarter.

Assembly incorporates design components from different flexible connectors. It is a significantly versatile product. It can be used for children to create their own spaces, for adults to build and experiment new concepts with different prototypes of structures or for teaching STEM concepts such as geometry. It is also a great tool for team building activities for corporate and nonprofit organizations, and an excellent activity for “Bring your Child to Work Day” and summer camps..

Kickstarter campaigns operate under an “all-or-nothing” funding model so if the PlayAssembly project doesn’t reach its funding goal at the end of 30 days, they won’t be able to bring this product to the market. To follow their project, be sure to find them on Twitter (@PlayAssembly) and Facebook, and spread the word throughout your social networks. You can back this project by pledging as little as $5 up to $399 for two Assembly kits (fiber glass version) to help their project come to life.
