We ask you to realize how many times a day you wash your hands. And how often do you clean your phone? We just launched a Kickstarter campaign to develop an antimicrobial iPhone 6 cover.
Our iPhone 6 cover contains a technology copied from nature to make it antimicrobial. It is the only biocompatible, eco-friendly and non-leaching technology, and is not using silver, biocides or any other harmful substances to give it antimicrobial properties.
The technology is developed by Parx Plastics which is developing applications for several companies in food packaging, implants, medical devices and more. Parx Plastics chose the Kickstarter platform to introduce the technology to a wider audience and offer a generic and useful item: the Dr.Parx antimicrobial iPhone 6 cover.
The idea for the iPhone 6 cover comes from a recent publication on the blog of Dr. Simon Park, “Exploring The Invisible”. Through an experiment he is demonstrating the number of bacteria present on random phones of students in his classes at the University of Surrey, UK.
The minimalistic cover for the iPhone 6 will made from Tritan material from Eastman Chemical and the Tritan will be equipped with the technology from Parx Plastics which offers 99% less bacteria than normal.
The cover will be produced in Europe, Italy and will be available in 5 semi transparent colors.
● Aqua – as if there is a layer of nice clean water on your phone
● Smoke – oke, maybe this does not look ‘clean’ but for sure it looks cool
● Gold – we are trying to simulate the gold color of the gold iPhone model
● Deep Sea – a nice deep-ocean blue
● Transparant – a bit boring, but slick, no color at all
