When fitness and well-being are a lifestyle it is only natural for one to make better life choices. My company strives to be an extension of that value by turning your wardrobe into a helpful tool. How will that work you ask? My medium is simple, my design is sleek, and my strategy is natural. Bamboo textiles are the future. How many of you put sunscreen under your clothing? How many of you sweat profusely during physical activity? How many of you care about your carbon footprint? Did you know that bamboo textiles have natural wicking properties (ability to draw moisture away from the body), UV protection qualities, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, and a hand (feel) softer than cotton? Now imagine going about your active lifestyle not worrying about having to wring out sweat, your clothes holding on to your B.O., UV rays penetrating to your skin, and feeling pretty darn comfortable all at the same time. The solution is simple and verily attainable. So the next time you think about purchasing clothes think about how much more they could do for you by simply going bamboo. Not to mention, for all you eco-friendly advocates, bamboo textiles are less ecologically damaging in their construction process compared to that of other textiles, and replenishes itself rapidly.
My Company (Ambrocio) focuses primarily on using renewable, environmentally friendly, and practical textiles which are lacking in the active wear market. While some companies touch base on this resource, most big name active wear brands focus mostly on design and patented synthetic materials. While synthetics are highly suitable for the active wear industry and fulfill the needs of their customers, I choose to do so naturally. Using sustainable textiles that are good to the environment, catering to the needs of the customer, combined with practical design, you have a triple threat. To make it four, add on competitive pricing; after all everyone loves a reasonable price.
To launch Ambrocio I have uploaded the project on Kickstarter.com, this is where you can help. It’s an all or nothing deal: I need at least $15,000 to launch or no money transfers hands to protect the backers. I am offering rewards for your pledges which can be found on the right hand column of the screen. This first run of designs includes a bikini and boy short style underwear, basic T’s for men and women and a tank for men and women. However, if funding reaches $40,000 I can add more designs: tops, bottoms, and sports bras in a variety of colors and fabrics. With $50,000 I can add details like waterproof pockets and reflector panels. The more you can give the more options you have! Mahalo in advance for all your support!
About Lauren: Lauren grew up in Saratoga, California knowing early on that she wanted to pursue a career in fashion design. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (in Los Angeles) where she developed skills in sketching, CAD (Illustrator and Photoshop), sewing, draping, grading (sizing), cutting, pattern drafting, time management, networking, and industry procedures. This is also where she came up with her idea for Ambrocio; an active wear clothing line for both men and women utilizing bamboo textiles. After saying goodbye to California, she moved to the beautiful island of Oahu where she fell in love with living an active lifestyle. Anything outdoors would do, particularly hiking (she joined the hiking groups Active Faith and H.O.T. (Hiking Oahu Trailblazers) Hikers) where she was able to ask consumers what improvements they would like to be made in their active wear. She now spends her time designing, sewing, hiking, working with her mother as a Realtor for Century 21 All Islands, playing tennis, serving the church community, and enjoying life.
About the logo: The logo for Ambrocio has a tri-meaning. Most apparently it is a capital cursive “A”, it is also in the shape of a fish (symbolizing Jesus), and since Ambrocio means immortality in Greek I have transposed an infinity sign as a reminder of eternity.
