London — 16th of April 2019 – Actually, it’s not all about the moon, that’s just the name of the film. A young group of filmmaking students intend to make an authentic short film, called All About the Moon. However, it is all about Dissociative Identity Disorder.
The Met Film School students have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter on the 6th of April, aiming to tell the fictional story of 23-year-old Marlon Maysen, a former student confined within the walls of St-Henri Mental Health Center.

Unbeknown to Marlon, Achilles, one of his alters takes the spot to escape from St-Henri, in which he has been locked up for five years. This leaves Marlon to deal with the consequences and to reconcile with the ties of his past, leading him into the arms of his sister, Rose.

Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, has often been misrepresented in media. The group of aspiring filmmakers are trying to represent it as authentically on the screen, thus, trying to capture the realistic issues and situations that come from not just having the disorder but also the people surrounding them.

Having launched a Kickstarter Campaign, which amazingly has already reached half of their end goal, they still have a long way to go. They are looking for supporters and backers to help them create a genuine film that is faithful to the disorder.

“All About the Moon is a project that I have been developing for more than one year. Working alongside professionals to help me and advise me on DID has given me the will to create an honest piece of work about the issues of representing the disorder” said Théo Panagia, writer and director of the short film.
