Free the independents! Let them be heard! I am a songwriter and musician wishing to fund an EP project in a professional studio instead of my bedroom. The day to day living expenses exhaust my income quickly. A professional studio environment has so many advantages: Better acoustics, better recording gear and professional audio engineers to name a few. However, studio time is pricey.
I have been writing songs since my teens and have a strong presence on SoundCloud with over a million and a half plays. Notedly, those are freely available to listen to and provide me zero extra income. My next project will be a 7 song EP that I would not only distribute digitally but a also vinyl release.
I can’t say I can accurately define my style. I don’t want to limit myself in any way. Getting pigeon holed into a specific genre is not one of my goals. I simply call it Universal music. If I want to use a harmonica with a synthesizer, I will. There are no rules or regulations.
The subject matter of my songs know no bounds either. From social and political topics to the subjects of love, relationships and the duality of being human. I don’t expect a listener to like all my tunes but I’m sure there is something that will bring meaning into their lives as well as entertain.
