Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – A husband and wife team that created their own graphic novel have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help fund an independently animated mini-series.
The creators of Celflux the graphic novel have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help fund the creation of an animated mini-series.
In a time of endless rehashes and reboots (Thundercats Roar), self-taught animator Everard J. McBain Jr and his wife Dixie Ann Archer-McBain are creators daring to offer an alternative to what the big studios are putting out. Started in 2013, their graphic novel Celflux has grown and they are now branching out to create an animated mini-series. Co-creator Everard J. McBain Jr taught himself how to animate in order to be able to work on this project.
People who love 2D hand-drawn animation, sci-fi, are nostalgic about the awesome action cartoons of the 80s and are interested in an animated series with a diverse cast and a female lead of colour will love this endeavour. The current animation market is saturated with shows that all look the same. An original project like Celflux is a refreshing change for those who are looking for something different.
Social media is a key component of the campaign, and the Celflux Team is asking supporters to share with friends and family.
The Celflux crowdfunding campaign will run from May 28th until July 7th, 2018. To learn more, please visit: celflux.com
