A new beautifully illustrated read aloud book has been added to Kickstarter called Yes Sir Captain Daddy. Illustrated by Betsy Peterschmidt and written by Luke and Lynnette Peterschmidt it tells the story of a dad left alone for a weekend with an adventurous child. But it’s a lot more than just a fun read.
The book is based on, and models, modern parenting techniques. It shows a dad willing to get into the world of the child and solve problems/encourage behavior from the inside as opposed to just shouting “NO!”
The books comes from a place of real honesty as it’s based on the advice Lynnette gave to Luke before they had their first child, and the advice has held up very well for the whole family. Now Luke and Lynnette, with the help of Betsy, want to share that example with fathers everywhere.
