Skyride Studios has just released the demo to their new game, “A Night In Kyosaka”! They have also launched a Kickstarter for those who want a full version of the game made. Their campaign starts August 2nd and ends September 1st. You can play the demo on Steam as well as Itch.io and if you like what you see, please consider backing the project.
About the Story:
This animated visual novel is about a young 10-year-old who wanders into a world ruled by dogs, cats, warlocks, and spirits in search of their missing puppy. Your job is to navigate through this mysterious world, looking for the lost pup, so that you both can venture back home together.
Inspiration for the Game:
We have always loved Ghibli movies and this game, if compared, would be closest to a mix of “A Cat Returns” and “Spirited Away”. We wanted to give the game a Ghibli style feel and we hope that we succeeded slightly in doing so.
Demo Gameplay Includes:
Craft spells, money system, disguises, choices and point-and-click elements. We have even more planned for the full game.
Kickstarter Rewards:
Our rewards include things such as an artbook which includes all the various stages of character/background designs as well as our process on how we made the visual novel. We also have “Voice a character” which will allow you to voice one of the many characters in the game. There are other fun rewards to check out on the Kickstarter page.
The full game is set to release July 2023 alongside Anime Expo 2023 where they are trying to get a booth as well as presentation room where they can premiere their game.
