Interactive technologies (In-Tech) is a company founded by four students attending Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. We at In-Tech have developed a product we call Mouse Glove. Mouse Glove is an innovative, comfortable, and easy to use alternative to the computer mouse where your hand controls all the action.

Reason Behind the Product
Technology has been rapidly evolving over the last few decades. However, the computer mouse has barely changed. This has inhibited our ability to interact with electronic devices. While there are alternatives to the mouse, they have many issues and disadvantages. Touch screens drain battery life, lack accuracy, and limit functionality. At the same time newer movement-based technologies are not yet available to the mass populous and they shares the accuracy problems of the touch screen.

What Exactly is Mouse Glove
The Mouse Glove is a new way for us to interact with technology. We combined a commonly used wireless computer mouse with a wearable design that allows the user to have a more comfortable and natural experience when working with their electronic devices. It puts the hand in a more comfortable position than a traditional mouse, which minimizes risk of wrist injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome. The product possess all of the abilities of a traditional mouse; a left and right click, a scrolling feature, and an optical sensor for cursor control. Along with these features we hope to also add a pinch to zoom interface and a lock button to allow the user to disable the mouse while typing.

Important Features of the Glove
-Glove material is soft and heat-resistant for the user’s comfort and safety.
-Price range is similar to the common wireless mouse.
-Prevents wrist injury such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
-Allows the user to more naturally interact with their computer.
-The mouse glove does everything that a traditional mouse does and more.

Funding our Project Will Achieve the Following:
-Beginning production of the mouse glove
-Gathering materials to manufacture the glove
-Finishing the development of the pinch to zoom interface
-All funds past $10,000 will be used to develop more features

Production Time Line

What We Have Done So Far
-Researched into our product’s customer base to understand our customers’ expectations for an item such as this one.
-Assembled a basic, functional prototype that gave a very rough view of what our customers could expect.
-Designed and developed another sleeker and more functional prototype (pictured above) that not only impressed our existing customer base but broadened it.

What We Are Currently Working on
-Continuing market research to determine what exactly our customers expect and what are competitors are doing with similar technology.
-Finalizing the design of the mouse glove i.e. determining the final glove’s material, the specifics of the electrical components, and the most ergonomic positioning of the components.
-Planning to develop a final prototype that is more ergonomic with less cumbersome electronics than our previous prototypes.

June, July and August 2014
-Order raw materials to build a prototype of our the final design
-Assemble of a small number of gloves to be used in a beta test to further our understanding of how our customers feel about the glove.

September 2014
-Order more material after feedback from our beta test to assemble into products.
-Hire a work team to assist in product assembly

October 2014
-Assemble large quantities of final product

November 2014
-Begin selling and distributing the products to our customers via online options such as Amazon.
