My name is Cammie Noel, and I am an artist and filmmaker. This film was shot and edited by myself alone and It is about my journey shortly after losing my best friend (a dog Bosco) to cancer, and shortly thereafter with my other dog Indie ( A huge Mastiff/Lab mix) and I going on a theraputic and totally unplanned road trip.
I traveled with him from Whidbey Island WA where I live, to Montreal QC, then via southern states, and New Mexico, to Arizona (where I unexpectedly adopted another dog who’s owner passed away), and then, traveling with the 2 big dogs, to Southern and Northern CA. and then back to the Northwest.
It is called 20 Dog Parks in 12 days…One Woman’s (And 2 Dogs) Journey. I filmed dog parks from Montreal to Seattle and talked with people there along the way in many towns about their dogs and dog parks. I also met a few characters, both dogs and human ones. I discovered first hand what it is like traveling long distances with big dogs, and the experiences that unfolded while being on the road with them is very real, not at all staged, entertaining, fun and very spontaneous. It also has an amazing soundtrack.
I am working on readying this feature documentary that I recently finished for distribution. The film is being re edited to improve color, and other visual improvements are also being made (Upscaling from Standard definition to high definition, noise removal etc). As I was approached by a viable distributor but was not accepted due to the technical issues to be addressed I have launched a campaign through Indiegogo to hopefully raise finding to complete these necessary changes and meet the requirements for distribution deliverables to be in place for this film and the other necessary deliverable requirements.
