Kickstarter’s Film & Video category is the second largest on the platform, and has raised over $246 million dollars to date. Since the launch of the platform in 2009, Kickstarter has taken an active role in curating and promoting independent films, from Kickstarter’s Annual Film Festival to the Kickstarter iTunes film page. This month Kickstarter funded documentaries will be featured at several festivals, where Kickstarter staff will also be on-site giving advice and interacting with creators in different ways. You can find a copy of the itinerary below.
1. CPH:DOX – Copenhagen, Denmark (November 6 – 16th, 2014)
The Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival will feature 10 Kickstarter funded documentaries (Above All Else, Approaching the Elephant, Art and Craft, Below Dreams, Buffalo Juggalos, First to Fall, In Country, Rich Hill, Tomorrow We Disappear, and A Will for the Woods).
2. DOC NYC – New York, NY, U.S. (November 13 – 20th, 2014)
This year is the fifth annual DOC NYC – America’s largest documentary festival. There will be 38 Kickstarter funded documentaries featured at this festival.

Conclusion
Each event features a member from the Kickstarter staff which will be available to answer questions and teach others about the crowdfunding process. This new initiative is a great example of the lengths Kickstarter goes to promote independent film creators and introduce them to the concept of crowdfunding.
